Abstract:

3 volumes of snapshot photographs documenting the Mexico travels of a Ervy J. Redfox, who regularly visited the Morales family in Mexico City and toured throughout the country. Photographs depict cathedrals and other churches, pyramids, missions, market scenes, houses, parks, indigenous persons, arts and crafts, street vendors and other workers, fishing, natural and urban scenery and many other topics of interest. Volume 1: locations depicted include Mexico City, Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque, Chapala, Mazatlán. Volume 2: locations include Acapulco, Mazatlán and Guadalajara. Volume 3: locations include Mexico City, Puebla and Cuernavaca. Laid into volume 3 are 2 photographs of Mr. Redfox and the Morales family, one dated March 2, 1956 with caption on back: "My 79th birthday at the Morales residence..."

Note taped to front cover of vol. 1, perhaps pertaining to all 3 volumes: "1940s & 1950s. Grandpa Redfox w/his friends of many years, the Morales family in Mexico City. Grandpa use to go to Mexico City every 2 years & would stay for months. He spoke Spanish beautifully."
